This full-day workshop will be held on June 14 in Glen Ellen. Morning lectures will address drought effects on trees, fire as a landscape process, creating fire-adapted landscapes, and funding and implementing projects. Lunch and an afternoon field trip follow at the near by Glen Oaks Ranch.
The afternoon field trip will view and discuss restoration projects on Stuart Creek, the Sonoma Valley wildlife corridor, Sudden Oak Death and oak woodland restoration, and conservation easements.
Speakers include Steve Swain, UC Cooperative Extension; Fred Euprhat, Forest, Soil, and Water; Caerleon Safford, Sonoma County Office of Emergency Services and FireSafe Sonoma; Jill Butler, CAL FIRE; and Bob Neale, Sonoma Land Trust.
