Presentation from Dr. Sasha Berleman on Prescribed Fire Projects
April 7, 2021 @ 3:00 pm - 4:00 pm
Taking Action for Living Systems is inviting the Forest Working Group to attend the Diamond Mountain to Mark West Natural Enterprise Complex planning meeting on April 7, 3-4pm. Dr. Sasha Berleman will be showing local examples of prescribed fire projects, share practical aspects of planning and implementing burns, and relay the project results in terms of improvements in fuel load reduction, forest structure, habitat and plant communities.
What are Natural Enterprise Complexes? TALS utilizes Natural Enterprise Complexes (NECs), an innovative and developing strategy that attempts to fill several gaps in California’s overall approach to wildfire management and improvements in landscape resilience. These entities are an alignment of landowners, local government agencies, community interests, enterprises, service providers and beneficiaries—with a common objective of coordinating and expanding respective efforts for reducing wildfire risk and improving forest and landscape health.
See the flyer for more information. You may share this flyer with others in the Diamond Mountain/Mark West area who may be interested. For more information, please contact Ann Baker, ann@livingsystemsalliance.org.
Please note that FWG members are welcome 3-4pm, but after 4pm the meeting will be closed to the public.
