Join UCCE for their three-day workshops to learn how to protect your forest and create a personalized Forest Management Plan

Workshop topics will include:

  • Defining your forest management objectives
  • Identifying forest health, insects and disease
  • Enhancing forest and fire ecology, wildlife, watersheds
  • Reducing fuels and protecting forest resources
  • Introduction to mapping, inventory and silviculture
  • Developing projects & permitting
  • Getting professional help and accessing cost-share opportunities

 

Workshop Information

Days one and two will consist of classroom and forest-based instruction on ecological concepts and measurement skills. After a week’s break to collect information on their own property, participants will return for day three to write up their management plans. Participants who develop their plans will be eligible for a free visit by a Registered Professional Forester to assess its content.
